| The PC-DS.11
PC Card is a one piece, Type II, PCMCIA device designed
for indoor mobile clients such as laptops, CE devices,
pen tablets, special-purpose data capture devices, and
almost any other devices with a Type II slot. It has a
data rate of 1, 2, 5.5, and 11 megabits per second and
supports Windows 95, 98, NT client and Linux operating
systems.
The PC-DS.11 Access Point
uses direct sequence spread spectrum radio technology
operating in the 2.4 GHz industrial, science, medical
(ISM) band to transmit data at speeds up to 11 Mbps. It
is fully compatible with the IEEE 802.11 TGb wireless
LAN.
For applications
requiring longer range connections, such networks
located in manufacturing and retail warehouses or for
outdoor networks, the PC-DS.11 has a MMCX connector for
use with external antennas.
