The Optimux-1551 E1 fiber mux and Optimux-1553 E1
fiber mux are unique STM-1 / OC-3 multiplexers that offer high
port density at an affordable cost. The units map multiple E1
or T1 tributary channels into a single channelized STM-1/OC-3
uplink, enabling the extension of the local loop up to 80 km
(50 miles), while creating a transmission layer fully
compatible with regional and national SDH/SONET networks. The
2U high Optimux-1551 E1 fiber mux provides connectivity for 21
E1, 42 E1or 63 E1 channels or 28 T1, 56 T1 or 84 T1 lines,
while the 1U high Optimux-1553 E1 fiber mux provides
connectivity for three E3 or three T3 lines. The products
comply with all SDH/SONET standards, and interface with
existing SDH/SONET backbones through a single or redundant
STM-1/OC-3 or STS-3 interface.
Further Product Information The Optimux-1551 E1 fiber
mux and Optimux-1553 E1 fiber mux deliver traditional PDH
services over existing SDH / SONET networks. They combine
the high capacity associated with SDH / SONET add-drop
multiplexers (ADMs) with the simplicity and low cost of a
terminal multiplexer, significantly reducing operating and
capital expenses (Opex and Capex).
High capacity in a compact, plug-and-play
unitOptimux-155x E1 fiber mux products are designed to
dramatically reduce capital and operating expenditures by
combining the high capacity of SDH / SONET ADMs with the
simplicity, low cost and small size of a terminal
multiplexer. The 2U high Optimux-1551 E1 fiber mux provides
connectivity for up to 63 E1 or 84 T1 lines, and the 1U high
Optimux-1553 E1 fiber mux provides connectivity for three E3
or three T3 lines. The products comply with all SDH / SONET
standards, and interface with existing SDH / SONET backbones
through a single or redundant STM-1, OC-3 or STS-3
interface.
The Optimux-1551 E1 fiber mux can be ordered with 21 x E1/
28 x T1 lines, 42 x E1/ 56 x T1 lines as well as 63 x E1/84
x T1 lines.
Carrier-class design Designed for the rigorous
requirements of carriers and service providers, Optimux-1551
E1 fiber mux and Optimux-1553 E1 fiber mux devices offer a
high level of reliability and manageability. Hardware
redundancy is designed into the system without the need for
custom Y-cables or external devices. This 1+1 redundancy is
provided for all user interfaces through an optional second,
hot-swappable multiplexer card. 1+1 redundancy is also
available for the STM-1/OC-3 main link (uni-directional
APS/MSP) and power supply modules. This reliable platform
maximizes uptime for mission-critical applications. A fully
equipped Optimux-1551 E1 fiber mux fits in a single 2U 19"
shelf while the Optimux-1553 E1 fiber mux occupies a 1U
shelf.
Higher revenues at lower cost The Optimux-155x E1
fiber mux devices allow service providers to extend their
network towards remote customers, thereby enlarging their
customer reach and increasing revenues, without the expenses
associated with deploying high-end ADMs, which add
unnecessary cost and complexity in point to network
connections. Compared to the alternative of deploying PDH
multiplexers at customer sites, the Optimux-155x E1 fiber
mux devices interface directly with the existing SDH / SONET
TDM infrastructures and consolidate traffic at the edge of
the network. This enables service providers to save the cost
of fiber deployment and of multiple ports on the ADM.
Plug-and-play operation Easy to install, maintain and
operate, Optimux-155x E1 fiber mux requires no training or
expertise. As completely plug-and-play units, the products
allow carriers to extend the benefits of SDH / SONET
networks toward the customer premises or central office in a
quick and inexpensive manner. |
