| Remote switch control of
up to 4 devices with our 4 Port Code Activated Switch.
This product allows one RS-232 Master Port to be
selectively switched to any four RS-232 devices. Code
activation allows automated systems to be used to select
the port to be managed. Users can also program hotkeys
to quickly select between ports. The code structure is a
user definable escape sequence of from 4 to 6
characters. Additional codes allow query of switch
status and programming. Two modes of operation
allow selection of the device to be connected. |
In the Code Control Mode,
the 4P-CAS selects the port to connect to the master based on a
three to ten character Switching Code sent to the master port.
Each switched port is selected by its own Switching Code. The
4P-CAS can also be used in a Code/Lead Control Mode. In this
mode, any of the four ports can access the master port by
raising its Request To Send (RTS) or Data Terminal Ready (DTR)
control lead. This capability is in addition to the Switching
Code selection as described above.
There are four LED's on the front
of the 4P-CAS to indicate which port is connected to the master
port. A push-button switch on the front panel allows manual port
selection.
